I love the end to this book! I'm really glad she choose Peeta in the end because he loved her so much but I'm kinda surprised because I thought she would always choose Gale since they grew up together. I'm also surprised that Gale just left her and started a new life in District 2 without really fighting for her or anything. FINISH THE BOOK so you can tell me what you think!!
District 2 Avalanche
I just read the part when the rebels destroy the mountain in District 2 with avalanches and I can't help but to agree with Katniss on the issue. If I were Katniss or anyone of the rebels I would have no problem killing President Snow or anyone directly associated with the Capitol because I'd know that they would not hesitate to do the same to me. However, this attack seems to be more malicious because it is killing hundreds of people who as the book stated may not even be full supporters of the Capitol, it is even pointed out that some of the people in the mountain are actually District 13 spies. The fact that they killed these people without first giving them a chance at changing their minds and joining the rebellion rubs me the wrong way. I feel as though their disregard for human life is almost as bad as the Capitol's sometimes. What do you think?

District 13 vs. the Capitol
Ok so I am about a third of the way into the book and up until now it seems to me as though there isn't that big of a difference between the Capitol and District 13 in terms of authority. District 13 seems just as, if not stricter, than the Capitol. I mean they go as far as to schedule everyones lives out for them down to the hour. Their use of Katniss does not differ much either. In both cases she has been used as a pawn to get their desired result. Overall I do not trust that District 13 is going to be much of an improvement to the livelihood of these people compared to the Capitol. This distrust was strengthed further once I read about Peeta's second interview with Caesar in which he further urges Katniss to think about who she is working with and what is really going on, this alone deepens my doubt towards District 13. But then when Finnick tells Katniss to not talk to anyone about Peeta's interview I feel even more doubt for it seems evident that he and Katniss feel the need to keep secrets from the authority.

Oh.my.god. I am still freaking out about how this ended. I'm nervous as to what the Capitol is going to do with Peeta because they will obviously be pissed that Katniss destroyed their Games, so they will try to use Peeta against her. Katniss also annoyed me though when she got made at Haymitch and them for not informing her of the plan, honestly they were only doing what they thought would work out best and it did in the end so she should just be grateful. As for the district 13 deal I kinda always figured that there would be some sort of place that they could go to, to rebel against the Captiol I just never expected Plutarch Heavensbee to be a part of it. His involvement makes me think that there is more people in the Capitol who are secretly trying to destory it too..we shall see... I can't wait to start the next book!!! If Peeta dies I will cry.

How did you feel after Gale was whipped?
Are you a Peeta fan or a Gale fan?
Personally I love Peeta. He is perfect for katniss, but she does not love him back. The fact that she wont give him a chance frustrates me. He's perfect!!
But I do understand her love for Gale. Or her feelings for him. She has been around him for the majority of her life, and they are best friends. At one point or another, they were bound to fall in love...it always happens to best friends..
Who knows, katniss may just be tricking us. She did convince us that she loved Peeta when it was all a joke...

Personally I do not think its fair how Katniss keeps going back and forth between her feelings for Peeta and Gale. Its been said from the start that her feelings for Peeta were merely for the desires of the Capitol but there were hints along the way that she was confused as to whether these feelings may be coming true. Throughout the journey this undecisivness mixed with Peeta's true feelings of love towards her must be extremely confusing to Peeta and completely unfair. Then when Gale tells her he loves her she only responds with I know only to explain that she can't love anyone at the moment because of her feelings from the Games. However, after his whipping she kisses Gale and decides that she wants to be with him but the very next morning she says she hopes he forgot because she "can't think about kissing" while she is planning a rebellion. To me it just seems like she is toying with their feelings and doing whatever she feels at the moment regardless of the outcome on them. What do you think?
